C. apurensis prefer live fish such as feeder goldfish (or smaller tank mates, especially expensive ones) and will readily eat nightcrawlers and worms. They can be weaned off live foods with chunks of frozen tilapia for example or other kinds of fish, maybe shrimp as well. Haven't seen much about getting them to eat pellets...
lol tbtb thanks for the help i love to learn all i can about my cats. im keeping 6 types currently and love them all. gunna have to pick up some frozen fish in the morn for this chunky basterd lol. gunna need an id on a little guy soon. have no idea what he is but at 2 inches he holds his own with my albino mystis, valture , and i believe it is called bacu catfish.
I catch marine bait fish 2"-6" here in season, Sep-Oct, by cast net. A lot of work but also fun. Stuff them in 1 gallon containers. Two 7 cubic feet freezers last me a year or so.
Bacu usually refers to a Pterodoras granulosus AFAIK.
Mystus aff. gulio , Calophysus macropterus, Pterodoras granulosus. just for you tbtb that way i can look all smart ( not that my spell is worth a **** lol)
Smart in my book is when one does not kill fish (much). The number of pet fish I've killed broke 200 or maybe even 300, as I've lost count. That's not smart of me.
Anyhoo, I like scientific names because they eliminate much confusion and follow-up clarifications, that is thankless, trivial, and menial work.
How is Buffalo? Is it still in roughly the same spot I left it in 2011? (You might have forgotten I lived in Rochester, NY in years 2000-2011.)
Lol still ****ty went from mid 60s last week to low 30s now. And lol i dont count my dead only thankful for the liveing one of my rtc tryed to eat my sleeper goby a few weeks ago got lucky he released and i put him in a different tank.
