Egon's the plumbing god. :)

Sweet filter Egon, I saw it on one of your threads....and funny post.^

Yeah he's a friend of mine and his wife took over the screen name and he had to start from scratch, just razzing him a bit :grinno:

This tube would definatly be mounted on my wall. Seal 1 end. Cut a big oval in the top. Mount 2 "J" hooks on wall. Tape then paint half of the back black. Sand. Door build in wall to hide canister filter. School of some gnarly tetra or danio. Then mount a light above it. That would be a sickkk night light.:headbang2

14 posts................ rookie :grinno: No sharing opinions till at least 100 posts ;) Just say stuff like: "that's neat" or "wish I had something like that" or "CHOMPERS's the plumbing god"....... just keep it friendly.
I fixed that little spelling error for you. :D

Haha Already Have me getting a BIGGER tank, and I just filled my first of 2 75's tonight...

I didn't end up working the weekend so I came home early. This is what I did after I pulled ANOTHER fish from my tank...Nitrate spike and bad acidic PH, after pulling an older undergravel filter without a massive waterchange and pulling all the gravel and washing it before I try to reuse any of it. It was my bigger African Knife..Damn it!

Well here's my progress so far..

Mirrored 75 first, so I can place the lower tank first.

Crappy pics tonight from the phone, but it is minimal hiding decorations, filled to about 75% with a seeded sponge filter and a new corner box filter. I'll top it off with seeded water, from the 50 gallon and start my Cascade 1200 on this guy. I needed to fill it up quickly cause it was late so out came the garden hose heater is in it-so tonight is a dechlorinating night and some time for a temperature check. Fish get moved tomorrow after I get an oil change for the wifes car.

I have similar thoughts with large tubes used to leading rain and used water.Either as a large skimmer or a perhaps several tubes in a large trickle-tower

A sand filter would be pretty simple and easy to clean when the time comes. And there is no equipment in the tube so you won't have to go in it.

Just going through posts again... thought about a sand filter as I am going to be seriously considering pool sand as a substrate in the bottom tank...

Simple to clean, but how would you add the water to the sand if such a design... Thats were the bioballs/plastic shipping strapping or scrubbies come it, I could easily set up a trickle style overflow and set a pump at the bottom.
