In the name of fishkeeping .. Please post some pictures of your tank.

I've got one,and I suspect that at least a few of us has done it before. We can't always find the fish we want conveniently nearby or even in our own towns and I've driven two hours one way to get to a fish that I wanted.I come close to going farther than that but have'nt yet.

Honestly, replacing a small section of drywall isn't a big deal... most of the work is going to be in the mudding and then painting the wall after the tank goes somewhere else.

I recall Vamptrev cut a hole in the ceiling at the bottom of a flight of stares so that he could get an 8 foot tank into his basement... The hole was a lot bigger than what you did...

And now, that 8FT tank is right were it needs to be...exactly.

If I ever told my wife I'm going to drive 2 hrs to get a fish...she would probably be gone when I got back!!! 2hrs one way? Yeah, gone.:)

this whole thing begs the question...What Will You Do or What Have Have You Done 'In The Name Of Fishkeeping?'
All justifications welcome!
Please include pics....

I refinanced our house to buy a tank and build a fishroom for our two pacu. We tore down the garage to build the fishroom. We then needed a new garage, so decided to have a garage big enough to house the boat, truck and at least one car. We then decided to capitalize on our river view by building a new master bedroom over the fishroom....All in the name of fishkeeping:) To keep costs down, my husband and son are doing the build, with guidance from an engineer. It's a slow ongoing process, hampered greatly by all the rain we've been having.

This triangular area between the fishroom and the garage will be the filtration room. There are two large floor drains and plumbing for water. The line in the cement demarcates where the back of the tank will be.

Floor joists are in above the fishroom. The stand and tank must fit through this window frame opening. There is a 1" clearance on either side. We will have an in-wall tank.

3.5" tubular steel was used to construct the stand which is sitting in my parents' garage

The tank purchased in August 2009 and delivered Feb 2010, is in a storage facility until we're ready for it.

All done in the name of fishkeeping:)

^^Absolutly spectacular!!!^^^^ That's how its done in the bigs~!!!!!!

My wife is actually pretty good with all my fish stuff...even cutting holes and building tanks. It is her patience with me that endears her to me. If it wasn't for her, my grumpy, destructive Oscar would have been long gone!!
