In the sewers, underneath us, as we sleep! What creatures lurk? What fish live!?

A modern sewer system doesn't really have a lot of standing water in it - if it did it would quickly fill in with sediment. The mains typically have only a few inches of water in the bottom. The pipes in your house are empty (except for the traps) so no need to worry about snakeheads coming out. Cockroaches on the other hand...

That's what I was wondering about, there actually being enough water depthwise for fish to live and thrive in.

There's a sewer grate thing by my house and I've seen fish in it so I got a pole and some worms to see what they were. Turns our they were bullheads. Don't really know where it comes from or goes to.

Scenario #3: A fish keeper does a water change/ gravel vacume on his tank containing cave tetras. The tetras have recently spawned, and are captive bred and very hardy to bad water. A bunch of eggs and fry are sucked up and sent to the sewers. Here they get thrown into an abandoned old pipe and find a broken pipe where they breed and populat the local sewers, since they can swim in the three inches of water that is in the sewers. I used to live in the mountains, and our water cane from the creek, into a water tank, then into our house. My dad used to clean the tank and find tons os salamanders and minnows, doing perfectly well. Any environment can be inhabited by a fish... Any one ever...

K wouldn't doubt to find some hardy cichlids in the sewers! I've dumped some dying fish in my toilet which haven't moved in like an hour and as I flush it I see them move! Happens every time with any comets over 3"! Every single time! There is probably a well established comet population in the sewers! Lol. They are born and raised in mostly horrible water conditions and I've seen them in all different types of water! I Don't doubt there are some in our sewers!
