I haven't had a problem keeping dats with any fish I've tried so far, but sometimes they do wreak havoc. Foremost, make sure the tank-mates are too large to eat. I have 3 dats w/ a FL/spotted, but if you read the Gar forum, dats can be hit or miss with gars.

alright thats what i was worryed about because i have seen the mouth extension in some dats, and i dont want that to be my gar in its mouth. and what about birchirs, like so 2-3 ornates?
