It sounds like It could be a very cool project… or could be a very disastrous one…
 
I suggest taking the time to educate yourself on bees before getting much further than you already have. I’m sure there are bee keeping forums where you could consult experienced bee keeping hobbyists as well as professionals. They could advise you on species as well as sources to acquire the supplies & the bees themselves…

This gave me plenty of resources to get started…

I gave it a shot 2 yrs ago and as you know its one of those things that you truly have to know what your doing thus for me it was "could be a very disastrous one" lol.

Now I just buy the pollen and honey.

Are you happy with your results so far keeping bee's?

I could be wrong but it seems they do better in states with cooler temps and actual seasons ?
