For the time being I have two Fluval Fx5s running on the big guy's pond, but I will be upgrading that to a 55 gal barrel that I will modify into a filter. I will post pics of the whole process as it happens. I am going to make a screen that will sit about 10" off the bottom of the barrel. The water will flow up through the screen making the space under it a settling chamber. I will put an aeriator above that that will send air up through the bio filter media which will be about 25% lava rock and 75% pot scrubbers. That will come out to about 20 gals of lava rock and 80 gals of pot scrubbers. That should do my bio needs for a while!
