ive always enjoyed fishing from my spot on the side of the local lake but this summer i was thinking about trying somethig new. ive been looking around at some of these cheap inflatables between $50-$300 available like sea eagle, intex, and sevylor but honestly they all seem like over priced pool toys. has anyone ever used these? would u trust these in the middle of a lake all day? any suggestions for gettin me out on the lake would be appreciated.
thanx

I used an intex inflatable 2 person occasionally in the gulf of mexico to go snorkeling/free diving, and we pretty pleased with it until the day i accidentally popped a small hole in it dragging it down the board walk to the beach and then paddled out with, only to realize I was sinking about 50 yards offshore. I used it probably a good 50 or so times up until then and never had a problem with any leaks or anything. I bought another cause I don't trust the patch kits, and its worked well for about 2 years.

lol that had to suck. if it can be trusted in the gulf id think it would be fine in a lake. but fishing hooks in the boat would still worry me

I just bought an intex. . . waitin for it to show up @ cabelas. There's a bunch of reviews on the sevylor fish hunter on bass pro's website. Everybody was happy with it, I just went with the intex cuz it was on sale. . . . Let you know how it works on the rivers as soon as it shows up!

I have a small sevylor and think its great, maneuverable and quick. I have used it several times and if you can swim, you will probably be alright. dont take all of your gear with you though lol

I thought of it for a long time. Researched etc and had the same exact worry as you-fishing hook-inflatable device of any kind-don't mix. But hey what the hell do I know? I opted to buy a canoe instead. I can lug it myself, bail water if I had to if it ever flips and hooks do nothing to aluminum. Pretty unstable if you are in it solo but it works and puts me on the fish spots for sure.
Another thought-how stable could it actually be? Unless you spend boooko bucks on one I just don't know how satisfied you would be.

i would get a canoe but i just dont have the room for it so inflatable seems like its the way to go. if i can get rid of my dirt bike and some other things i might be able to fit a canoe in the garage.

just buy a used kayak or canoe, dont waste your money on this gimicky crap.
