Whatever, if you want a diplay then spend the big bucks. If ya want to breed fish, build ponds at a fraction of the cost. Another option would be to dream about having 150g tank;)

Harsh man its comin. Ill show u soon engh

i am rasing a group to try this...now i have 8...i will try to replicate the rainy season to stimulate the breeding season...i think it is the same or simmilar to the asian aro breeding...

right now they are 2-4" and they are in a 20gal...i will move them to the tanks they need as they need them...i will put them in a 10'x10' pond for attemps at breeding...if that seems to small when i see them in the 8'x4' then i will build bigger for the end pond...

Would love to see you succeed at this. You could provide so much info to a topic that has so little available.

i would put 8 in a pond and just keep them really well cared for and wait for a pair, and then put the pair in a 8x3. they are paternal mouthbrooders

From what I read once you have a pair you will need a large round pond about 8' in diameter and 3' deep keep them in it till they get comfortable feeding only pellet foods then fall back on W/C let about a foot of water evaporate leave it like that for a week or 2 maintaining 2' of water in the pond then fill the foot of missing water and supply plenty of live food
hope for the best
