How about some recommendations...are you talking sand? cartridge? D.E.?

All will have to be cleaned every couple of days if your lucky! I've used all three and they are too efficient for ponds since you don't need crystal clear water for a pond (your not looking all the way thru it like an aquarium).

What's needed is a W/D, we just need to figure out what's best for his situation (barrels / tub / inground etc.) :D.

I am looking for something reletively low maintence (None would be nice but we know that's not possible!!LOL) that will also keep it fairly clean for the fish....

Nothing as yet, been a bit slack and just back from a fishing trip on the Murry with some mates so the pond has been on the back burner for a bit

you dont need to clean a sand one every couple of days. i was thinking a sand one as it is extremely effecient for bio and mech filtration.
