Here's my 150. It used to be fully planted, but I decided to remove the plants because I wanted to keep P-Bass and had a disease issue. I can keep the tank much cleaner without all the gravel and plants, but now I'm stock with a tank that I find quite uninteresting to look at.

Please comment on my tank and offer any advice on how I could take the appearance to the next level without using live plants. Any input is appreciated! Sorry for the poor quality pic...

Paint the back of the tank black. It will hide all those cables and improve the look 100 fold. If you don't want live plants maybe add a good fake plant for some color.
It really doesn't look that bad your just used to a bunch of plants.

Try live plants in pots. Large anubias would also do fine and don't require a substrate. Or you could tie java fern to the driftwood and it will do just fine.

If you don't want live, then there are some really well made silk plants out there. Verrrry realistic looking. Made for aquarium use.

I know...I know...:) I just thought maybe you knew of a specific place. I live about 35 miles away from That Pet Place in Lancaster, PA. From what I remember, they have a lot of options. I'll check them out.

Black background and some fake floating plants would do good for pbass..
