Get a lotus elise ... for 50 k you wont find a car as nice.![]()
Now, i dont know if it can outperform a S2000, but i do know that it can get more
looks...
Oh ok.. i would go with the rest and say s2 then.. you wouldnt want to be accused
of buying a "budget" porsche... and performance -wise , s2000s kicks as. Ive seen it
on japanese dvds running on tracks and the boxter is left far behind.
that is true Wes. I used to be just all for NSX, but after watching a lot of Best Motoring videos and seeing what the S2000 can do, I added it to my list of fun cars to wish for. And the price is nto even that unrealistic like the NSX.
Yeah, the Lotus uses the same 1.8l inline four engine as the Celica GTS, the 2ZZ-GE, but tuned for 10 more hp than the 180 hp in the Celica GTS:Wes, I read or heard somewhere that the Lotus Elise uses a Celica Engine.
Let's wait for Itcthy to chime in on this one. He's the automotive Guru. LOL
Thanks for everyone's input. It seems most peoples answer is based on sheer performance. If I want that I will just go for a new Mitsu EVO... I guess I'm stuck for now.. Thanks again

It's only 190 hp, but the car only weighs 1900 lbs, so it's still a 10:1 (pounds/hp) car.
An Elise will outperform an S2000 in both acceleration and handling, but it's essentially a track car w/ few concessions or creature comforts. I've seen 0-60 times in the 4.4 to 4.8 second range for the Elise, versus 5.5 to 5.9 or so for the S2000. Lateral acceleration in the range of 1.0g is also possible w/ the Elise.
