Soylent black.
Where I live, the locals eat tarantulas, and 6" grasshoppers they call longostas de terra (lobsters of the land)

The sheep dog above weighs in at about 100+ lbsfullsizeoutput_3be.jpeg
a little hot sauce, maybe some lemon
no wonder the umbi's, and dovii grow so big in these parts

I am sure it's being looked in to I think the main thing holding it back is trying to market it to us fussy westerners.

I've seen a number of news stories on this subject. There just isn't a strong market to make it profitable. Consumers, especially westerners, just aren't willing to consume "bugs" regardless of the many benefits. There's actually plenty of insect based human food for sale online

If fish are fed hot dogs, I think that it's only fair that humans eat grasshoppers.

Well the EU have officially approved insect meal for commercial fish feed, I wonder how long before it makes its way into the pet trade.

Hoping to see a good source of pet food from this. Without the same issues of preservation (I assume) of fish meal I imagine high quality pellets should be achievable.

It's been in the pet trade for a couple of years now .......
