insilation

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Scrap the insulation, unless you are doing large water changes daily and adding water warmer than the water your taking out the tank temp is going to hover around room temp. Even the greatest thermos in the world won't keep your coffee warm forever. You're better off buying the plastic that blocks drafts and allowing sunlight from the windows to possibly warm the tank a couple degrees.

well it actally looks pretty good, and all im really trying to do is stop the draft from comming from the windows ( windows on both sides of my tank )

By not running the heater?

 i cant run a heater cause my grandmother thinks its to hard on the elec bill..... and i covered the sides cause i want to stop the draft from the window and keepp the tanks at a normal level on temp. temp is 76 right now ( and should stay that temp to, been like that all day ) so 2 degrees aint gunna make a diffs.

bro seriously why do you even keep fish when you cant give them the best.
Either that or move out so you can atleast heat and do water changes.
Heating the tank should not cost more than 1$ a month

2 degrees can make a huge diff. It affects the way fish digest and metabolize foods and garner nutrients. It affects enzyme production, the productivity of amino acids, and the generation of hormones. Physiologically, those two degrees can mean the difference between healthy fish and fish open to more diseases due to ineffective regulatory systems needed to feed and oxygenate the body along with properly eliminating waste products.
