:WHOA: You can always trade your fish for Goldfish. This way you will not need a heater. Goldfish can be very interesting if you let them.:grinno:

as much as i agree with you knifegill and really do want to move out. i have NOWHERE to go tell april. in april im moving out right away. i wont be moving back either. ( any apt i look at im going to need a co-signer to, just hope i dont need one for april, if i do, i know my friend dad will co-sign for me. ) but tell then i have NO other place to go. my friend that lives in the same town as me already doesnt want anything to do with me anymore cause of the choices i made. but i told my grandparents that i get NO restriction on my tank and i mean NO restrictions and my aunt HAS to help pay the bills and pay rent.. so well so how that goes.

Good for you! Hope it all goes as well as possible.
Insulating the tank will only shorten the span of temperature swing between night and day. It will still be the same average temperature as the room. The coffee was a perfect example. Putting coffee in an insulated cup might help for a few hours at best. After that, it's just room temperature from then on.

ah yea, but wont it also help keep the temp stable? like at night my room gets down to 74 and day up to 76, so wont it keep the tank around 75?

already let my friend know that i got a 5 foot fishtank comming lol, shoulda heard him, hes like * holly crap doug! thats huge! * i told him this tank is small to me. which it is lol
