I much prefer Seachem Stability. IME there is no product that will give you an instant cycle, aside from some established media from a cycled tank.

Feedback for the item looks good, they are saying to add the fish with the chemical.... i guess to feed the bacteria the chemical has?

i would save your money and squeeze whatever gunk and crap you have from your 20 gallon tanks filter into that 55. wouldnt hurt to throw in a couple pieces of food to let sit as well.

I usually just squeeze the established stuff into the new tank and leave it in if i can and throw in fish.
Never had an issue.

+1 I squeeze out the dirty filters, give it a few hours to clear up and them put fish in.

jay88, after personal use of the nutrafin product, it does nothing. i've tried setting up multiple tanks with it and it does not contain any beneficial bacteria in it, nor does it help/speed up the cycling process.

funny enough, the times i used it, i was looking at cycle times of 2+ months.
when i just went straight store bought ammonia, i cycled within a month.

if anything, i'd try the seachem stability. from the other products they produce, they are a great company and i have not been disappointed with any of their products to date, unlike nutrafin, which i will never purchase a product of theirs again.

I only use Stability/Zyme as an aid for cycling a tank. I'll do the fishless cycling with ammonia dosing as well as adding stability. My tank is completely cycled in 1 week and 2 days. Then only will I add fish in.

I use NUTRAFIN AQUA+plus and also the NUTRAFIN cycle together. (Person at a PetCo said to.) Following the exact directions on both bottles I haven't had a problem. And I do water quality tests every other day, because I'm new at this and want to make sure my pets are in healthy 'homes'.
