Internal parasites

Happy thanksgiving everyone.

I feel really hopeless at this point with my fish, for the most part, most of them are healthy again, but every now & then 1 or 2 of them get sick and it takes a long time to get them back right, and it’s just a lot of work keeping them healthy. It’s not fun anymore. I just don’t know what do it. It’s been over a year

I would try scrapping your system at the very least, start that over. Seems to be something lingering in that regard that keeps coming back for your fish

what can you do when the the fish has stopped eating iv just recently bought a 9” female trimac had her for 2 weeks and shows no signs of eating swimming perfectly normal no sunken belly does have white stringy poop do meds still work if added to the tank

Nope, I’ve heard of it tho, and I heard it can be hard on the fish
I preventively treated all my new fish with levamisole as directed on the post on this website. No issues. I had ordered the bulk package that is used for farm animals and divided the doses using a gram scale.

As someone.else mentioned, Fritz now has its.own version which is better than having to divide a giant package of the farm animal stuff.

Sorry you are going through all this.

Edit:
Aquarium coop carries the fritz levamisole. I'm going to get this for the new fish I have coming.

In the past, I preventively treated with "General.cure" which is prazi/metro and levamisole. I spread out the doses. As stated, these treat different types of internal parasites.

I was mostly concerned about the wild caught clown loaches I added back then but I did for other fish just bc Id rather subject the new arrivals to this treatment than to risk infecting my clown loaches I had since 1995.

im not 100% certain it is internal parasites but certainly looking like shes not even showing signs of illness acting and swimming fine and no sunken belly possibly being fussy but the white stringy poo is worrying

I recommend starting your own thread for this.

Have you tried levamisole yet? It's harsh, and the fish might not survive the treatment, but it will get rid of everything for whatever lives.
