Obviously. I am thinking of doing something else for tank mates with my little brat Oscar Oliver (I love him really). The Sds are really intimidated. Would a con or a jd do better? How would I introduce.

Some pictures to make thread more interesting.

Good lookin O but I really wouldnt add anymore fish to that tank. Maybe the SDs are trippin so hard is because its so cramped in there with an attention craving oscar....

I am looking at replacing the Sds as tehy just sit at the botom left hand side as far away from Olivers favorite spot (the left side). He harrases the constantly. I would rather have them then nothing but would rather have something more interesting.

Really wish I had tried for a pair but maybe something else.

GT didn't work out when they were both under 4 inches.

What size tank is that? 90g? I'm guessing that the oscar has laid claim to the entire tank, so adding other fish will cause problems. A single 12-14" fish is pretty much all you can keep in a 48x18 aquarium.

Yep 90 gals.

I'll probably just leave the Sds in there so he has something to chase given the comments. It would be nice if I could have something more interesting in there who Oliver would play nice with but all comments indicate that this probably won't be possible.

In a 90 gallon, you could do a JD. If you get a breeding pair of cons they will stand their ground and the fry could be his food. A 90 gallon is certainly large enough for another fish or two with an Oscar.

Would the Cons beat up on the O if they bred?

I was thinking a JD with some kind of a cave perhaps?

What size would I want to start with given the size of Oliver?

No, the cons will not get big enough to really hurt the oscar it will just be a continous stand off. The silver dolars might also benifit from eating the occasional stray fry. adding an adult single JD will be the death of one fish as they will have only each other to focus on ,probaly why the GT didn't work out. Never put 2 aggressive fish in a tank by themselves.

Interesting croc.

What I would really like is for my O to play nice with another fish of some kind or at least alow their existance.

But you see in the first photo what I am dealling with.

It's really funny though when I clean the tank or when they are all scared they hundle up together. I've actually seen an SD hide behind oliver when he was leaning against the glass.

You might be able to use giant danios, although they might just get eaten.

A con would probably work. Add more hiding spots, and maybe some tall fake plants.
