Inwall 430gl Plywood Tank Build

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Dolphine pumps are power efficient but I think they don't have any submersible ones, all inlines. For your application you're probably better off with a submerged one (basing on your sump and location of tank). I use Mag drive pump and have never given me any problem for the last 4 years I've been using it. I've run it with only 1/2 water to the inlet a lot of times and for long times too but still good. I also nver cleaned my impeller, not even ones.

The problem with the galvanized tub is that it will leach into the water and eventually (slowly) poison your fish. From what I understand the fish will act fine until one day they'll start gasping and the next day they'll be dead. Guppy has made some posts about it, maybe you should PM him first.

ok i did a quick search on here for "galvanized zinc" and found a thread that says they will leach zinc into the system, this tank has set outside for probly over a year, but i will paint it now i see this,
rallysman thank you for the heads up.
i really didnt want to paint it because it will be black and really hard to see if it needs a cleaning, but i will figure that out later,
thanks for the pump suggestions,, i havnt decided on one yet, i was looking at the mag drives because they are cheap/reliable. but they arent efficent with their power consumption and they creat a lot of heat.. Gator i am going to go look into those pumps now, thanks again guys!

I've had good luck with quiet one pumps, but my most reliable has been my quiet one. That thing is a tank. You'd have to drill your sump, but that shouldn't be a problem.

Nice job!!! Just a few questions,,,,

1. What was the fiber glass you used and where from?
2. What was the resin you used and where from?
3. What was the black paint you used and where from?
Thanks

if you dont wanna paint it you could always just lay a pond liner in it
