A few hoses are made of PVC, but most are made of reinforced vinyl. Especially the Ace brand hoses.

I know its not exactly a published study or anything but its all i can come up with right now, I have a busy day moving fish ahead of me and need to get started!! :nilly:

Either way, whether its a PVC hose, vinyl hose, or just a bucket, its still a good practice to clear any standing water before using it to fill your tank, there is all kinds of unwanted things that could be in there.

I've been using garden hoses for to fill fish tanks for years.

Never had a problem. It's never a bad idea to flush them out first before using, but I've skipped this step without any negative issues.

Also, the hose I use runs outdoors between my house and fishroom.

I've done it was gonna permanently fix one to each tank..... but since I haven't bought the hose yet I'm gonna get the rv type....

That pic looks like the same hose they sell at Walmart for $9. It's U.S. made but like someone said earlier some hoses are marked if they are water potable or just for garden use.

I use that type of hose on my W/C setup. There isnt much water left in the hose when I'm done because I drain it out. However, I am a big fan of restaurant/food grade stuff and the RV/sanitary hose idea I like alot.
