  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just hoping that the power won't go out, other than that keeping dry.

This was 12 hours before arrival in Brigantine, NJ. A barrier island adjacent to Atlantic CIty. My parents are about 5 blocks from this and its a bit concerning.

I lost everthing last year in Irene, my enitire basement was wiped finished and wiped out, we have a 2-family, it was the first time are house flooded in more then 35-years.

I'm located in the lower part of Lake Hiawatha, Northern New Jersey. We have a pump station, for the lower part of this town, but last year during Irene they mis-managed the reservoir and starting dumping large amounts of water to late.

The pump station couldn't handle it, and we got destroyed, also lost both cars. Took 6 months to get back into the house, lost all my fish, including my prize JAG the (one in my avatar)

Its 1:18pm here the wind is kicking up and we are freaking out. I have my FIRST generator all ready to go, 5500-watts, only have 1-tank, but I've been working on these 6-baby-peacock-orinos since early July, there getting some nice size on them, I sure hope I don't loose them, if I do I will be devastated.

If my house floods like last time, I think I will loose my mind.

I hate to sound all preachy, but HANG IN THERE BUDDY! POSITIVE ATTITUDES AND THAT NEVER SAY DIE 'MERICAN SPIRIT! Here's hoping you and your fish make it out ok! It's lookin' pretty nasty out there...we are near lake Erie and it's looking like we are just getting constant rain...my basement is prone to flooding (I live on the river) but the Kinzua dam (flood control for Pittsburgh, PA and north on the Allegheny) is really low and the water is needed for it. We should see the worst tonight/tomorrow they say?

Im in the same boat, I sympathize with ya. Gettin ready to lose electric any minute. I dont have a generator, just 3 battery powered air pumps. My parents are on ther beach and decided to eide it out. Theyre in trouble and I cant get to them. Good luck Damon....we're gonna need it.

Wow that's crazy. We shouldn't be flooded here but trees will be coming down and we could lose power. Don't know what'll happen if winds are 85mph...

Good luck to those in the affected areas!

I bought my generator, Black Max 8125 powered by Honda engine, last year in getting prepared for my tanks in winter storms. Worth the investment, IMO.

I work as a firefighter in Atlantic City and grew up on the beach and have been through loads of these storms. So, I dont get too concerned with the storms. However, I have a crappy feeling in my gut about this one. Could be a problem-maker. DX...the winds are picking up down here as well. There are benefits to living on the beach, but then at times it sucks.
