In a dream
Got some grow outs in my 10 gal and gonna be moving filters around and going to have an extra AC 70 laying around. Right now i have an AC 30 on there but i was thinking if i could use the AC 70 or is that too much? What do you think?

Thanks in advance.

If you could baffle the output, and modify the intake, it would work.
Some people use 16 ounce soda bottles, cut off both top and bottom, with a slit down the side to baffle the flow. And there are many ways to alter the intake. Some people use an AC sponge with a hole in it to go around the intake.

Don't the AC70's have a flow control? I know the AC110 does, and if it could fit on the back of a 10G that might actually work very well.

But an AC70 running full bore on a 10G would be like river currents, unless it was restricted or adjusted.

10g growout tank??????For such a small tank, I would use a sponge filter....Then, when the fry reach 3-5 weeks of age, have them placed in a 55g growout..........AC70 is way to strong of a current for a 10g size.........

No, definitely not too much. Yes, aquaclear filters have flow control. Just turn the flow down if its too much... The flow created by a HOB is really not that intense... it's spread out a good amount and put through the top of the water column.

Never such a thing as too much! Slap an emperor 400 and a canister filter on that bad boy as well. Hell even add a koralia power head. That 10g will be like a mini vortex!
