it does look actually dat like but yes too many stripes tail is different but it does look closely related to the dats. does anyone know of the first thread and what we believed it was then.

It's been debated before. It's not a Dat. I forgot what it was, but it's a Saltwater fish. Can't really eat raw Freshwater fish due to parasites.

Its a Sheepshead - Archosargus probatocephalus

Maybe Im wrong, but thats the only saltwater fish I can think of that taste good to eat

So saltwater fish dont have parasites?The fish that is unscathed looks like a Buttikoferi and the filleted one looks like a fish called a tripletail which really resembles a saltwater datnoid.
