Is Gold Arowana really GOLD $$$?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yea cuz they expensive as gold. :)

They really are gold. If in case you have a golden arowana that died, you should pluck out all its scales... only the golden scales. Go to the local pawnshop and try to get some money for it.

Great thread by the way.

On a diff note, did you mean to ask if they really turn gold in color..or? Or are they orangish color?...like goldfish are not exactly gold colored but they are called that anyway. I hope that's what you meant to ask...lol :)

I'm a new aro hobbyist and have a HBRTG, but know very little about gold arowanas. Surfing through the internet and skimming through several articles I found people described some gold arowanas being pure 24K. When I saw the term 'karat' used in the articles this raised more questions for myself.

Does the fish really have gold in it because the term 'karat' is being used to describe a high end aro like a Crossback Gold?
