My silver is about 8" and it's in a 125 with three glass lid tops. First of all its difficult even opening a lid for feedings because it could up and follows my hand. It will here and there jump out of no where and bump it's head. Now mama called the doctor and the doctor said "no more arowanas jumping off the bed".

I couldn't resist that damn song was stuck in my head.

Is this just normal behavior?

Doing a water change right now and I can tell this guy wants to leap so I'll have to to do zero maintenance on this change meaning cleaning the glass and gravel/ sand suctioning.

When was transporting this fish from the 37 gallon to this 125 it actually jumped out of the bucket twice almost hit me in my face. I thought fire eels were jumpers but never seen a fish like this. I think it scraped it's scales a good but but seems healthy otherwise.

Silver Arowana are natural jumpers
Right I knew this going in. the only solution I can think of is if I create a custom very tall canopy so that it can jump really for the short-term.

I also don't want to go through all of that trouble. Am I just playing with fire with my glass lids at this point?

Place weight on lids until you come up with something.
