Here is what you're looking for if the fish still has hex(under 400x)

Interesting because my water is really high pH. 8.1-8.3

Well, according to this study, it dies after a few days in pH above 8.....so perhaps hex is not what the fish had/has Clear poop is a sign of of all types of worms, not just parasites, and considering the fish has been through a few of alternative treatments, its possible the worm issue is long gone...The bump....time will tell....

Yes it does look like cauliflower when developed, but earliest sign would be a bump like this. It doesn't just instantly appear all over the fish looking like cauliflower. Not saying this is definitely lymph... but wouldn't necessarily rule it out based on that criteria.

I suppose its quite possible. I am not an expert at all but from what I read on it, it's not normally fatal unless it affects areas that would obstruct eating/breathing. It otherwise resolves itself in time...So if it's that, it may take months to heal from what I know. It could be a site for secondary bacterial infections as well but if all goes well, it will clear up completely, eventually....so perhaps, besides the toll on one's patience, its not the worst scenario...

Lymph is a tricky virus. If you get it in one tank, all fish are assumed infected. If you use the same hose for water changes in two tanks, boom now the new tank has it. It can go into remission and you won't see it for months or years, then resurfaces with other stresses. Usually doesn't kill the fish, but it can like you said. It does make them incredibly ugly however. I have read about people culling all their fish and bleaching/drying the whole system to get rid of it.
I hop that this is not lymph. Total PITA of a virus. I'd say this is too early to tell if it is, but if it progresses into the larger cauliflower bumps, it is easy to tell.

Well, impatient fish keepers killing the fish due to aesthetics. It sounds quite excessive and I'd consider it animal cruelty...It's like killing an ugly dog.....It may be considered a total "PITA of a virus" because it takes months to resolve, and people are expecting instant results in every case....plus the shame they must endure while their fish look that ugly.....which turns the fish keeper into a killer of innocent life that would otherwise more than likely complete a full life cycle...

Well, not sure about that part? Any solid info you've found about this in particular, besides one's wild imagination?

Just like the first time this happened to my old golden Ram, the white pimple like thing popped to leave what looks like a slightly larger hole than what was there previously.

I highly doubt this is lymph

So as I suspected I cam home and the little pimple like thing is open. Not a big hole by any means but definitely a hole and not protruding like last night and this morning.

these are the best pictures I could take of it. Let me know what you all think. Almost looks like orange/brown something in the center of it? not sure as its so small I can't make it out. Maybe just flesh inside the hole or some other stuff trying to come out.

thoughts would be great.

Parasites survived only a few days in PH 5.5, 8.0 and 8.5 and were killed within 24hrs at a pH above 8.5 or below 5.5.

Just keep in mind, that the Spironucleus once systemic, can be concentrated in the blood stream, and various organs, where pH value of the tank water, and or extreme elevated temps of the tank water might not make a whole lot of difference.

I'm afraid that this is starting look like another round of HITH. Damn, this fish has been treated the best one can, it might just be a case of weak genetics, and/or a weak immune system?

i think you might be right. I was thinking it has to be in his blood at this point. I don't know why we can't beat this thing..

Maybe like you say he is just going to struggle with weak genetics. I am going to carry out the 6 day kanaplex treatment just to be sure and since I already started.

The good news is he is still being himself, very eager to socialize and eat. Flashing more and more though. Definitely trying to rub the top part of his head, so its bothering him somewhat.

I guess I will begine feeding metro coated foods again for a full 10 days
