As you guys know from my previous thread I purchased an GATF for $100. Here are some pics for identification. I really hope it's a GATF!

Not Goliath and not Vittatus
One of the other species. Still a cool ATF. I knew it was not Goliath when i read on your other Thread that "he was chomping on feeders aggressively"

i agree, but dont get down imo all the others are far more colorful an better eaters than gatf, plus even this guy will hit a point where u will think he is to big lol.

i wouldnt say so, here where im at, if my lfs even get them there at least 150 an prob smaller than yours, id say its a good buy. id buy it for that price if that means anything lol. u can find cheaper online sometimes but then u gotta throw in shipping

I know. It's just I really wanted the GATF. I know that I could give it a good home. How big does this guy get? Did I pay a good price?
 
lol just noticed ur back ground lol, cool.,i have never seen a atf is a saltwater enviroment before lol. he will def be the shark of the tank lol

Well, Im not going to lie to you. I am not very happy with the LFS right now though. I knew another place that claims they get in GATFs, but they were $150. I guess I am going to take pics next time before buying any ATF. The other place gets in vittatus for $100 though.
 
I read the sticky and it said Vittatus used to be called forskalii?? I'm confused..
 
What size tank do you have? Most people even w/700glns+ can't even house a Goliath for life. It's rare to find a Large Goliath with a nice snout. They are not a good hobby fish.
Goliaths get 3'+ in home aquariums so you will need atleast a 10'X5'deepX2'tall due to their lack of turning.
All other ATF are pretty good about their surroundings n are way more suitable for the aquarium hobby.
I'll take a guess n say it should max out around 2'.
I am guessing my Vittatus ATF is about 4 years old and is about 16-17", so you should have 2-3 years to upgrade if your tank is not big enough :D
