is it a right or a privilage to serve?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My version of the Navy was not what it was when my Dad served and yours is not the same version mine was. It is the guy sitting in front of a computer and wearing the Poster Boy pressed Coveralls that will get advanced not the guy fixing the Aircraft. First thing I did when inspecting or checking into a new command was look for pig pen, he was my go to guy, not the glad hand polished boot kiss ass.

No **** lol I hate Maryland lol. This is the most boring place ever. I left my heart and soul in the gulf of Mexico. Best place in the world to live is Florida.

Yep politics have ruined the navy lol. It's not all bad and I do get some recognition for my labors but I hate the direction it's heading. I'm sure sea duty would be great for a single guy but I'm married with a three year old daughter and I want to be around. Sometimesi just wish we could go back to the days of wooden ships and maintain our modern tech lol

It's a privilege in my opinion. Not everyone is in physical or mental shape to serve. I know I'm not by any standards. ADD, anxiety disorder, severe astigmatism, Raynaud's syndrome, spine is out of alignment, etc. not a good mixture. I wanted to be a pilot, then I found out I'm color deficient.... Oh well, it doesn't bother me, I probably would have hated it anyways.

Lol yea the process is pretty extensive but and I mean no offense to you but you are an exemption. I'm saying anyone who qualifies by meeting the entry expectations should have a right to serve as long as they don't f up too bad like drugs alcohol or violent behavior.

HI SEAL!

totally agreed with the airforce. i originally wanted to join the cost guard but wouldnt take me because i have a ged.

The entry exam was "Spell Coast Guard"

Haha I made a spelling error. Ever done it yourself? It would be easier to spell correctly if I wasn't posting this from my iPhone while having a party at my house with friends trying to snatch my phone out of my hands. They can be such annoying people sometimes lol

Seal? If you're talking to me then no I am not a seal. Lots of respect to them but not my career choice. I'm an avionics technician on mh-60 helicopters.

I was Safe For Flight on them in my day. Did the Sea Wall at Jax for 6.5 Years, Cecil Field in the F-18 community before that. Several of the HS's and just about every Carrier on the East Coast from 87-2003, then I got slammed here in Marylandistan. :irked:
