I came home from work today to find a growth on my biggest koi's nose that looks like a pimple from some of the research I've done so far it looks like its carp pox....just wondering if anyone has dealt with something like this before.

Never had any issues like that with mine. What was the recommended course of treatment?

I have scraped it off, and it has not infected any other koi.
Carp Pox rarely spreads to other koi.
The only real threat that is not treatable and will kill your other fish is KHV.

I have 1 koi serology tested each year out of the batches I have ever brought in. Right now I have 6 batches- so 6 fish get tested every year. And each year it's a different fish out of the group. My carp pox guy was one of the ones tested. I draw the blood, and ship it to the University of GA.
I keep a microscope on hand as well in the event that they need treated, I will know what they have so I know what to treat them with.
The OP pics does NOT look like carp pox. It looks like the koi ran into the glass and "broke it's nose"- It should heal up no problem. Essentially koi should NOT be kept in aquariums, and the OP will realize that this is going to happen often.
As for Carp Pox, it's a squishy jello like feel and it can be white or pink- I have seen several fish with diagnosed Carp Pox (including my own) and it has always been this way.
I can tell you know- from owning over 100 koi currently, and from knowing koi farm owners that carp pox RARELY transfers to other fish/koi. It will not hurt, or kill the fish, and it's not going to infect anything it comes in contact with.. It will simply make the fish look ugly.
Cold water ich looks just like regular ich, but it needs to be treated differently, as heat/salt and malachite green will not work.
If I can snap a pic of my carp pox koi I will gladly post it.

From what I have read most Koi have built up an immune to CP and that is why it is not easily transmitted from fish to fish. Is this right?
