Is it good to feed your fish with Earthworms?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I feed earthworms, red worms, and super (meal) worms to my fish regularly, especially when I'm conditioning cichlids for spawning.

I dip earth and red worms in water to get the external dirt off...otherwise I just drop them in (or tear them into pieces for smaller fish).

There's nothing better than live food!

I started a red wiggler bin to keep my fish fed with worms,so far so good.A little smaller that nightcrawlers they are easier to feed to the medium sized fish.

I always have earthworms or nightcrawler on hand. They are the staple of my BGK and Striped Peacock eel. That's really all my eel will eat.

My bichirs I bought last week LOVE them. Actually all my fish do. Not one of them can turn down an earthworm.

I just recently picked some up for my fish and they LOVED them. It's like lady and the tramp all over again when the two convicts get a hold of one.;)

according to that chart, earthworms have loads of fat but nightcrawlers have very little.

Here's the chart.:)

Thats an interesting chart,I heard thatthe pesticides would deter the worms away from a treated area or it would drain down through the soil and kill them. The nightcrawlers seem to have less fat cotent.
