with only 775hp it doesn't need a large spoiler. not many cars do and just come with them for looks, no mater how bad that may be.
Not true. Nascar motors have around that horsepower and they are hitting 200 on the superspeedways. At that speed (regardless of horsepower) rear downforce is a requirement, not a cosmetic option. On a nascar vehicle, the car is almost uncontrollable at that speed if they knock a spoiler end-cap off... let alone the whole thing. I race in circle track division that hits about 75 on a 1/3 mile track. The whole field is G bodies. I'm not allowed to run the stock spoiler on a Monte SS (you know the rubber one that is about 2 inches tall?) because it gives me an unfair advantage over the regals and cutlas's that don't come with them. While most people buy spoilers for cosmetics, when used correctly, they are a very functional piece of equipment. Spoke wheels on a vette, however, that is another story...
sounds like someone with some $$ but no taste. 775hp from a LS6 isnt very hard, if it even is still the LS6 block. heads, cam, and supercharger or nitrous would get that easily.
Agreed
260mph is most likely not gonna happen. they have the standing mile in Texas where some supped up cars (TT gallardo with 1200hp) that top out at 230mph. maybe 260kph
Agreed, and with the gearing required to get to that speed, the car is going to be totally useless for anything under 200.
the only way he is spinning 12000rpm(assuming 1200rpm is a typo) is with a solid roller motor setup
It's just not gonna happen with that motor. The ls6 is still a pushrod motor, and they are well known for bending rods over 6250 rpm (missed shift, etc). They just aren't going to hold up to double that rpm. I've never personally seen a pushrod motor that could get above 10000 without floating the valves. And even at 10k, it is WELL past the torque curve, anyway.
