Asian aros are being bred in farms throughout asia. If anything, I have noticed a price drop here in Canada as they are becoming more popular (still really expensive). I am working up the courage to buy a Dynamic Red aro (supposed to be redder than a chili red). He is about 5" and costs $1200 (I paid $1000 for my HBRTG about a year ago).

You know that Dynamic is only a brandname right...

K O WELL THATS GOOD TO HEAR
IM GOING TO GET ANOTHER ARO FOR MY ARO I ALREADY HAVE
THEY WILL BE IN A 110GAL WITH 2 SEVEUMS 2 JDS AND 1 GUARAMI

LOL before you even THINK about getting another aro, get yourself a suitable tank...

Anything over 30$ for a silver to me is just over priced. Cant say anything about any others as i havnt seen them in the LFS' i go to. But for $20 of course during the summer, you can get 8-12 inches approx.

$20 for an 8-12 inch silver!? That's way cheaper than here during those months, the small ones with the sack costs about $15 @ LFS.

Yes they are very similar, just like tinfoil and platinum....

uhm, sure...you do know black aros are just silvers that are born under different water parameters right...same with all this crap about "blue tinted" aros...not that its a good thing and silvers look like crap anyway...

Rubbish. They are a completely separate species (thus the different Latin names). They have vastly different colours as juveniles, and different colour and shape as adults. If you can't tell the difference you must be blind. Quite honestly that is one of the most ridiculous statements I've ever heard, are you seriously suggesting that if you took a pair of Osteoglossum bicirrhosum and spawned them in "different" water parameters the fry would look just like O. ferrari???

Perhaps you could educate yourself and have a read of this: http://www.wdc-jp.biz/pdf_store/isj/publication/pdf/29/292/29212.pdf

Research always tends to yield more info than what people say. You normally hear assumptions and unfounded comments.

And you have expensive tastes. Too rich for my blood...for now...
