is it wrong to want to swap or get rid of your fish just because he isnt a very active fish or hides a lot.
It has crossed my mind but i doubt i could ever give him up.

Has anyone else kept fish that have just been shy constantly?
mine hasn't changed in about 11months always has been a scared hide behind anything kind of fish since i got him

just make sure he goes to a good home and i say there is no problem

Agreed. It's a fish, not a kid.

its an escondido if i do decide to return him i hope i get some of my investment returned
he was quite expensive

yep i have used all kinds of dithers small large fast some were snacks
i had plecos as well
added heaps of hiding spots
water is always spot on

no problem in trading a fish. i've done it quite a few times. my fiance was attached to the fish but they're not hers ;) i just picked up 2 big red hooks that i will prolly trade

have you tried removing all hiding spots from the tank? Maybe just leave one piece of wood suitably angled for it to sit under to be happy but still be viewable?

It's not wrong to want to trade fish that bore you, i know i've done it and didn't feel guilty!

I always feel guilty for some reason. Less so if I can find it a good home....and more guilty if I trade it at the lfs. (And it doesn't help when Reverse rubs it in lol.)
