Is it wrong?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nah, do it, it's your fish tank, your entertainment. Why keep something that isn't entertaining you? Someone else may enjoy it more then you currently are

Yeah it is just a fish, just get rid of it............right guys.

I find that RAISING my fish gives me more satisfaction them just buying them.

If you have had the fish 11 months, you have had it longer than most of these guys will ever keep a fish, and it is not up to your standards, then I guess getting rid of it is not too bad. You gave the fish a good chance.

Carry on.

I always feel guilty for some reason. Less so if I can find it a good home....and more guilty if I trade it at the lfs. (And it doesn't help when Reverse rubs it in lol.)

I just find it hard to understand how you could be so proud of a fish that you would make numerous threads, spend time photographing it, obviously enjoying the fish, then when your wife says it has to go, out it goes.

That is my logic.

yeah if your not enjoying the fish like you used to then i would find it a good home and get a more personable fish (may I suggest an oscar :)

I have this lovely creature , and in the 2 years i got him, he maybe showed for 2 hours tops.

I rehomed him from the monstertank and put him in the 90Gl community-pleco-tank, where he's the biggest fish now.
He still hides but now I can observe him in his cave.
Glad I didn't get rid of him now!

Trust me, it makes me sad to lose him. I love my Dovii and actually I've gone round and round with her about this. Plus I've been trying for ten+ years to get her into the whole fish keeping scene with never any luck. Recently I've made some progress with her though, she really likes my Datnoids and has even fed them a few times (which I thought I'd never see the day). She even said they're beautiful fish! If I'm ever to get a new bigger better aquarium, she'll have to be into it. I stupidly made her a promise when I bought my 265g that it would be my last upgrade.

My wife hates my fish, which is OK, I hate her shoes. The world still turns, I do not harass her shoes, she stays away from my tank.

My moto is there are too many species of fish out there to not have what you like. I just donate the fish to my local library which I have two tanks that I stocked for them. Either that or I donate to my LFS. If it is a fish I don't want I never sell it just donate it and it helps my LFS out. They then hook me up with an oddball I have been wanting.
