i would say he did or is trying to do the deed

its always good to have 2 males so they compete over the females.

the only other male in the tank is a 16" male flower. the male marble motoro is a mere 8 or 9 inches... if that... but he is fully mature. the flower is just beginning to roll his claspers.

Hope you have better luck then some of us. I don't even get excited anymore about males chasing females, I see this "scorpion" behavior all the time in my pond, males backing into females, I have multiple females with chewed up disks and ripped up "feet", and... no pups. Been this way for well over 4 months now. I really believe Marbles are a little tougher to get to breed then some people assume. Best of luck to you, hope it does work for you. I guess I am nothing more then an example that just cause all the signs are there doesn't mean it's time to be expecting. :(

thanks for the bad news!! lol i would assume regular motoros breed easily like feral cats and that marble motoros are a little bit more difficult to breed like say a lion or a tiger. all in all they are still motoros and cats are still cats. give then right conditions they should do the deed..

p.s. i hate cats.... lol

Man, Db....what a buzz kill ....LOL

this happened w my leo/hen trying to mate my motoro, she wasnt havin it lol. but as soon as i put the male motoro back in, he "took" what he wanted lol

all u need is clean water, lots of food, and patience....

i just added some red wine to the tank and turned on some barry matilo.... its "lets get it on" time!!!!

Seems to me I have seen quite a few marbles bred over the last several months, no big litters but
never the less still having been bred.
Diggin Ray's is preggo. Crisroom Had some a couple of months ago, are two right off the top of my
head. Then there is Aquaman45, Sebarau are two more. And of course you DB, it may not have worked
out as well as you would have liked, but it will. I am sure there is a few more that I am missing.
I personally would like to see his (Omojena) flower knock up one of his marbles. Then I know it is possible.
Especially since my new personal Xmas present is due to arrive this evening.
In a frickin SNOWSTORM.

Hey thats my ringtone for when my wife calls. "Lets get it On" Then I know if I want to answer or not. :D

I know this has been discussed before. Loud rave music, black lights, crushed up vitamin C and XTC in the water will yield much better results then red wine and Barry Manilow.... They're just reaching maturity, not the end of thier lives......

Didn't mean to crap in anyone's corn flakes here guys..... It may just be me, or my water, or the way I keep my rays.

Most people that are/have bred Marbles have had them for a good period of time. They don't seem to cope well with change. It took me 3 years to get my first batch and that mom was 18-20inch across by most hobbyists standards. Not saying they are difficult to breed, just seem to require a whole lot of patience. Something I lack. Mine don't seem to like being moved around, having or being newly introduced rays, or changes to thier enviroment. More of that patience garbage..... LOL

actually i just "changed" their einvironment. i added hydroponics to the filtration and i rearraged the layout of the thank. ever since then is when the breeding behavior started. i have also been doing less water changes as the water seems to be clearer and bluer than ever since i added the hydroponics....
