thanks. yup they are in the return. the area is wide enough that the 7200GPH that flow under the roots of the plants dont disturb them.

My newly matured xingu male chose my smaller of 3 female rays also to try and breed but just about killed her instead. I watched the one day as he held on to her for 45 minutes before I seperated them. The first 5 minutes he tried getting under her or rolling her over but didn't know how to do it so he just held on and wouldn't let her go the other 40 minutes. The bigger females seem to get away easier so he leaves them alone.
Also agree with db on marbles being harder to breed than regular motoros. My male doesn't seem to want to breed much and my female will only breed twice a year compared to my motoros at 3 times a year.
