Is MFK a bad influence on your wallet? How?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
this site made me realize that i need a goal to reach with fishkeeping rather then buying out of impulse... i have bought a few things on impulse but nothing major.

i think this site saved me money rather then making me spend money.

2x Scobina rays, 1x Xanthic Florida gar, 1x FRT, 1x Australian lungfish...

Don't make me go on.

My most recent purchase included the following:

40b tank
40b stand
40b lid
40b light strip
blank sand substrate
heater
filter
filter pads
4 red humped geos

all for about $380, not too bad I think.

It's a good and bad influence, bad if you can't stop (me).. but it keeps me sane.. sort of :D

love this site! best on the net but theres always something for sale. i see something everyday. constantly buying from classifieds. im a aqua hoarder. if i see something that has value even if i dont need it i buy it. plus im always getting PMs. hey wanna buy my 240 for x amount? uh yes i doooo! i had 7 tanks when i got to mfk. now i have over 30 and i built a room for all this stuff. im out of control and i dont see myself slowing down. your gonna see me on the hoarders show for sure except i dont live in a hill billy town and suffer from depression =)

I stay away from the classifieds for a reason...

I am going to be that guy with rental storage to keep tanks that will one day go in a bigger place.
That's about 2 steps away from the "cat lady"

my cell phone bill has gone up from all the texts telling people NO you shouldn't trade X for X, your wife will kill you!

bad for my wallet, good for my fishes

If it wasn't for MFK, I would still be clueless about the nitrogen cycle and dumping bichirs in a 10g tank (which look big to me at that point of time)...

I would not say "BAD"

Check out my latest purchase
Only $10
And the money went to the Hospice Homes
Its a 4 gallon. I don't know what I am going to put in yet, but I have fallen in love with it.
