is my bass sick ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
he also kinda like curls up when he sits on the bottom... he looks pretty skinny too, he should eat but wont take anything i try something is wrong but id ont know what it is tho ...

Damn. That is one sick looking fishing holding onto dear life. I'd try small guppy feeders ASAP.
He should be much bigger than 3" for how long you've had him. My pbass that I kept that I hatched from an egg in dec is 4" now.

Also you can try frozen brine shrimp or blood worms. Put in a bowl of water then suck up with a turkey Baster and spot feed him.

Ya tell me about it.... I have tried EVERYTHING I can think of, ppl at pet store dunno what to say.... He won't eat ANY live feeder's... But he does and will swim to top of the water when he feels the need, and ya he should be like 5-6" by now :( going to petstore in guelph this afternoon and going to grab some bloodworms maybe brine shrimp as well.... I'm at the end of my rope tho with to do and try :(

Should be well over 6" by now if you got him in August.
Try really small guppies. Try live brine shrimp. Try ghost shrimp.
If you use frozen brine or blood, use garlic powder with it or seachem garlic scent...

Also check your parameters. Very strange for a pbass to not eat. They're pigs.

Actually got him in oct 18th, was my bday present to myself.. :) but ya I'm gonna grab some bloodworms at the store I've tried small rosey's he don't care for em.... I may try getting some more small rosey's or small guppies today...

That fish looks badly stunted. You need to get it on the antibiotic asap. I don't know if it might be too late or not but at least try. Get it into some clean fresh water and start treatment. I wasn't expecting to see that.

You sould check you're water somthing's not right here. That fish looks terrable.

But what med should I get ? Also the water parametres are within reason... The tank I moved him into has much better water parametres then the one he was in as it has a much better bio support system .... All though it my water won't be any cleaner then my tap water which consist of 20ppm nitrate... So tank water is 20-30ppm

Difference between Rosie's and guppies. You can get guppies smaller and that should work. Mine won't eat Rosie's cuz they are half it's size but he will slam 4-6 guppies in his mouth at once.

I said yesyerday use Maracy-two it's a broad spectrum antibiotic. The blood streaks in and at the base of the fin is sign of hemorrhagic septicemia a bacterial infection of the blood. Keep the fish in the present tank and start treatment. Dose according to the instructions on the package and keep the water as clean as possibile during treatment.

I would not recomend using feeders during treatment. I wouldn't use them at all unless I raised them myself. Frozen krill or market shrimp would be a better choice. Feeders can introduce unknown pathogens and at this point is the last thing you need. Hold off trying to feed it for another day or two untill you get the meds into it's system. If it starts to show some signs of improvement then try feeding a little.
