I'd guess male as well. But, 2" is pretty small to tell.
It won't be long& you'll be able to really tell.

NLS seems to already be bringing out his blue spangles but the pics dont show that or his little teeth.

Thinking of the biggest tank for him I could fit at the moment...how long would you guys say a 4x2x2 (120g) would last a solo male? w/ an fx5, 2x ac110 and plenty water changes..

I would say a couple years at least. My big male is close to 4 years old and is 16" maybe a little bigger.
