Is my TANK on CRACK?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
How will the Silver Dollars do... with Oscars? That sounds kinda like an odd combo? I have only been an aquarium lover for a short time. Has any one else ever have those 2 types of fish get along with each other?

I've seen it before. As long as the silver dollars are big enough, a few inches, things can work out.

Silver dollars as dithers/midrange swimmers for South American Cichlids is very common.

You tank might not be on crack but your crack might be on tank

+1 Oscar(s) will out grow that tank by themselves with no help from the SDs. I don't mean to flame but i hope your ready for an upgrade in the next year

:duh: Why do ppl always say 'you're going to need to up-grade'?.....The person didn't say how big or small any of the fish are right now....what if the Oscars are already 'size large' ? Hhhmm? LOL (not trolling, just bringing up a point. : ) )

+10!! People on here are constantly telling everyone "you need a bigger tank" and in some cases, their right, but an Oscar can be kept in a 55. And not every tank is overstocked like many people think.
Alright, I feel better having let that out. You'll be fine my friend! At least for quite a while!

No oscars can not be kept in 55s. they needs 70s. they need room to turn around. Sorry for derailing OP.

You should be okay OP. Well i would just add hardy fish for now until you know for shore.
