Thanks for that novaman. I did consider keeping water from my old tank, but didn't have enough water containers to keep even 20% of the new tanks capacity. So didn't bother at all. I thought seeding the canister with some old media would of worked fast.

Water contains almost none of the bacteria. Using old water is an old wives tale.
You can leave the peacocks in, be patient, and wait 2-3 weeks, or you can take out all the fish, find some ammonia to add to the tank, be patient and wait 2-3 weeks. Both options will get the tank cycled.

Reason I'm so impatient is because the seller keeps asking me when he can deliver them because he wants them gone as he needs the tank they're in.

i went the fishless cycle method, added in a filter pad from a previous tank, piece of fish to rot and flake food to rot with it. to speed up the process i went out and bought pure ammonia (no bubbles when you shake it, no scent).
don't buy the ammonia if you have fish though, would be too much for them.
