Few more picture updates.

in this picture you can see how red the underside of the male is. how severe is that?

today I did two water changes, fed in the morning and they ate heaps, than shortly after I did a water change. (what i posted earlier). just tried to feed again and they're not too hungry, still have the humps on their backs and i haven't seen any poop. cleared out all the food and did a water change, and test again.

Ammonia - 0.25ppm
Nitrite - 0ppm
Nitrate - 0ppm
pH - 7.0-7.2

Dosed with aquastar dechlorinator, seachem stability, and two tea spoons of saxa table salt.

i hear that on pups a pink belly is fine, it's when it's really red (almost bloody) that it's bad.

they are looking really healthy. pink belly looks fine. once the disc starts thickening up when they are older the light stops shining through the disc and the pink effect goes

have the raw prawns you are feeding been frozen? if so check the bag to see if it says salt on the contents. if so try another brand as the salt is one of many preservatives sometimes added to them.

i am 100% this has caused the heavy breathing/shaking with my rays in the past when i changed brands of frozen prawns. went back to the old brand they were fine then tried the other again and within minutes they were doing it.

it is nothing to panic about my rays were always fine after an hour or so.

The prawns i bought were from a local asian fish market. They're just called banana prawns, and they're sitting on ice. So i just leave them in the freezer and when i feed them i grab one out thaw it in warm water peel it and chop it up. i'll try chopping the pieces smaller tomorrow when i feed.

oh i don't mind. it's what they're used to eating and it doesn't cost me too much. it's about $12.99 a kilo and the rays are only eating one prawn cut up each feeding with some left over to spare. I'll look into something cheaper when they get bigger and start eating a lot more.

and this was during feeding, they weren't too interested the second feeding that day. they're lookin pretty fat, so that's probably why.

thanks for the tip. i did notice when the water was a bit hot it cooks the outside. about to water check and feed and then water check and change if need be.
