I feed my fish mostly feeders, crickets, worms & glass shrimps.. cause none of my fish eat pellets.. & my aro is looking great..
So I'm wondering if I really need to switch to pellets...
Choosing pellets will be a headache cause I can't find those branded pellets that are mentioned here i.e.:hikari food stick, cichild gold, etc..
Btw, do most pellets have the same nutritional values, regardless of the brands?
Also, which food is best for a 2 inch silver arowana?

No, it's not a must. From where you live, what you've been feeding your fish is reasonable.

It's really up to the owner of the aro what food you gonna feed your own aro. Pellets are cheaper here in Canada, that why my main deit for my aros are hikari floating stick. However if MP are cheaper the I'll feed them MP as the main deit, but I'll vareid the food that my aros are eating.

Arowana's eat all that stuff in the wild and are doing fine, I can't see why feeding that way at home would be any different.

if we could have systems the size of ponds or rivers, then I would say I agree with you.

In a tank's closed environment, pellets are, in the long run ( apart from a healthy diet ) what prevents your nitrates going through the ceiling. ( that and wc's, of course )

How so?

because pellets place a lower organic charge on the system...

But from what I've observed on this site, a lot says that pellets brings out the colours in arowanas... How is this any different than feeding the food I've mentioned at post #1? (they eat almost the same food in the wild & still look pretty)

I would say prawns brings out the color of arowanas. I only feed pellets to my fish so they can get vitamins that have have been put to that certain food. In the past back when I was in high school, I only feed my asian aros with pellest as market food were expensive back then as I don't have a job. Now that I can but some markey prawn I noticed that the color is more darker. Even in silver aros, the fins becomes darker redish pink.

not really if you want you could get them on too krills frozen dried 1s there usually easier then pellets lol
