Is Skynet online already?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I forgot where i read the article and of what systems were mentioned it was ai software related. To nodes or pieces of equipment began creating there own code and on a language that was foriegn to the programmers and engineers.

I do not like the thought of AI. Advanced technologies and robotics are great but i prefer humans be in control to a degree.

They sure call my house phone all day long.

Register with the national Do Not Call list and your number will be removed from most of those automated services https://www.donotcall.gov/
Hello; I did this and they still call. There are several loopholes. One is political campaign calls. Another is charities such as firemen and police. I also think if you do business with a company they can call. There are a few others who call that I do not understand why they get to call.

Another one is the army's self-piloting drones,
Hello; Yeah the drones pretty much fly themselves already. The remote human operators are just telling them where to go I think. I hope the operators do have some extra control and override capacity but the military folks have not included me in on their plans.

Sorry if I have only repeated what others have already said. Question is it worth the read to go back to the start of this thread?
Hello; I went back and read the whole thing. Yes it was worth it for some of the photos.

I almost completely forgot about that system!!! I remember when i first read about it and thinking to myself; uh-oh, we are seriously getting close to unleashing something like skynet...

What made me think uh ho was how they reportedly shut the system down asap. In this day and age i would think that this particular system would have been studied and publicized. Its almost as if something scared the shhhhh out of them

I dont think killer bots or drones is what we have to fear. If AI ever truly became self aware it would absolutely view us as a threat at some point. It could wipe us out with viruses (digital) there would be no way to stop it. Almost all of our municipal systems are in some way connected to the internet, and even shutting down the net would be impossible. The software could just wait our demise out and not have to fire one bullet.

Agreed, if it truly became selfaware and was able to replicate itself onto other systems it could get very dangerous, especially since as you said, everything is interconnected...

From gas lines to power grids and everything inbetween almost completely shutting down daily life as we know it...

Maybe good maybe bad. Tesla announced it is trying to invent cars that will follow your cellphone. Example: you go out with your friends (leave your car behind). When the gathering is over, you can get on your phone and summon your car to come get you. They also said you should be able to use it like a remote control car.

I was super wow at first but since we do have self driving cars, it's not totally shocking.

Also in countries such as Asia where a lot of roads are quite crowded and narror it could get dangerous till the self-driving tech gets better imho...
