It doesn't matter how trustworthy the soure is. A tiger can carry gill flukes for ages and be totally healthy and fine...
However put new fish under stress, move to new tank and/ or weakened immune system can allow the gill flukes to multiply and start overcoming the dats defence mechanisms.
Keep doing +35-40% wc's, and add that stuff everyone says.. Coppersafe. I ain't never used it but many members seem to think it's good. u can try adding salt too. Hope ur widebar makes it. Is it eatin still?
guys what I really need to know is can I add copersafe without some kind of chemical reaction??
Another fish has started to scrape its gills on the sand. Another indicator its flukes. I've kept multiple tanks in excess of 20 years. Ich doesn't bother me at all its like the common cold. This however does.
no visible white spots for a couple days now, but red gills and mouth. very rapid breathing mouthing the surface of the water. I have two 300gph powerhead on full aeration so I doubt true oxygen is the problem even at warmer temps.
vould be diseases... shrugs... sad for your tiger... i just got mine yesterday just a simple indo at a reallly low price heh. he was unhappy at the aquarium, so bought him and put him in ma main tank with othe rmonster fish ... now he's happily swimming around just not eating massivore ... prb used to live feeds. :S doubt he would have chance with alt hose greedy kelberis and temensis
Sorry for your loss man.. Can somebody post info on gill flukes since it seems to have been the cause? Seems somewhat like ick where all fishes have it and it shows with high stress levels?
