I just caught some what i believe to be Macanaugh trout fry. They are about 3 inches long and i caught them with a net off shore in water about 2 feet deep. The water there is about 71 degrees. My 55 gallon is 85 degrees with no heater running and the lights on all day. Im just going to keep them in a 10 gallon untill they get big then i will put them in a pond. I was thinking about putting my frige on a low level and just putting em in there but i dont really want to do that. They are in great shape right now but i dont really want them to die so please tell me how to keep them cold.

WTF really? Ya steal a life from nature, yet ya have not the means to properly take care of it :duh:

Plus it is illegal to take gamefish in CA, and illegal to use the net too. So you broke 2 laws. And if you have no fishing license that would be 3 laws broken.

i have no words to say to that.

This has fail written all over it. I highly doubt they were mackinaw fry if they were in 70+ degree water. Lakers prefer very cold water, usually under 50*F
