Is there a method to keep water cold?

I tried to make a chiller out of a mini fridge but it kept running and running and not cycling off. My bf was like...thats not normal, we can't use this, it'll burn out. So I've got a fan blowing on my axolotl tank now and it keeps it cool, just gotta constantly add water to it because it evaporates so quickly.

i think there was a much nicer way to talk to this guy, the only complaint i have about this board is the way members sometimes jump on eachother like they have here
