I almost wanna quote myself in my own sig... lol. Someone put that in their sig!

Use it for your own, you don't have one.
If I qouted myself though, my sig. would be short and to the point "I'm stupid"

You don't have to get into name calling (although technically you did by saying his post was "arrogant"). You just have to realize one simple thing.
That is this, no matter what, we can all "agree to disagree".
If you happen to be one of those that keep animals for the "pleasure" of feeding them and seeing what destruction they can put forth, then my statement here obviously does not apply to you, my apologies if I offended you.

Like I said, I respect his and everyone's opinion. You are right, I did not call anyone arrogant. The post displayed arrogance to me because he basically said that if you feed feeders, you must not be intelligent, or you must be young and immature. Sure, he did not put it in those words, but really that is what he is saying.

By the way, you may have looked at my signature and saw that I am trying to breed Convicts for feeders. I have a 6 inch barracuda who will only eat feeders. Also, I enjoy watching my Polys eat feeders. Hmmm....oops....I must be unintelligent for stating that. I guess I have a lot of growing up to do! Actually, I enjoy watching my barracuda and Polys eat feeders because I like to watch their hunting behavior. My favorite thing about owning fish is to watch the multitude of different behaviors they display. When I drop a feeder in the tank, these fish suddenly become very engaged; in concentration; in the "zone." They get excited. I like to see my fish excited. It makes me happy to see them happy.

I disagree, I think the whole point was people who " brag" on posts, or submit videos of same, are the immature ones who get this sort of conversation started.
Breeding cons. for feeders might piss off the con lovers, but as long as they don't know it, I.E. "bragging" posts or videos, everybody's happy.
The rodent fans probably hate me for posting that I feed their "babies" to my snakes, but I don't rub it in their faces.

You seem to be the only one who took it to heart though. It's not worth getting upset over.:) I don't think it's wrong to feed feeders to your fish if you know the source, I just think it's wrong to fight them for amusement. (not implying that you do, just stating)

I guess I am just very sensitive today:) Sorry if I changed the mood of this thread. I did not mean to make it a negative discussion.

His post annoyed me, but, as pointed out, I may have misunderstood what exactly he was trying to say. I do agree with all of you.....many people feed feeders for all the wrong reasons.

No need to be sorry, state your mind and opinion.
I think this discussion has been positive, if for no more reason than it's been reasonable without the degredation into the "you suck" mentality.
The "wrong" reason to feed feeders is to do it for the reasons stated in the original post, which is what the poster (and others) has a problem with.

I do think there is an element of bragging as well as the live food feeding issue. Most people wouldnt have an issue with feeding brine shrimp, worms or mosquitoe larvae but may object to feeder fish. On the topic of bragging, there is a HUGE amount of this here .... Who has the most aggro fish? Who has the most tanks? Biggest filter? What is your most expensive fish/purchase? etc etc. Luckily there are plenty of other threads too (such as this) so I am still here.

But those are not considered as "pets" by most.
Excluding "sea monkeys" of course.

I am 40 yrs old and have some understanding of what you have said. However, I do feed my preds live foods whether it be crickets worms or other fish. You shouldn't attempt to place your value systems on others no matter what the subject matter. Allow others to enjoytheir hobby in their way and you enjoy your hobby in yours.
