Salad or not, it's the nature of the beast(s), site(s).
This is not the only place you will find what you speak of.
We are the same age, so some of what you say I understand.
Having said that, I might be putting myself down to another level in your opinion, because no, I don't feed my fish other fish at all, but I do feed my snakes rats/mice.
Not for the "sheer enjoyment" of it, but for the "sheer husbandry" of it.
And to go maybe even lower, I kill the rats/mice before feeding.
I don't advertise it, make movies of it, etc., it's just a thing I do to keep the animals I want.
thats fine i have no problem with what you do.you are basically farming for your pets its the gratuitus stuff i can`t be doing with.

I understand completely.

I agree that the videos and pictures are a bit over the top. Unfortunately every has different views, and we can only hope that they wont grow up to be serial killers:)

Keeping fish in a tank is simulating nature. The key word is simulating (check Webster's for the definition). Good keepers of fish try thier best to recreate the natural habitat of the species they keep. Why do you think its wrong to try to keep thier diet as natural as possible also? I don't feed live feeders because I'm conserned about disease but I do feed live insects. Is that wrong too? Predetory fish like live food anyone who has kept them know thats true. Does that make the fish sadistic. Maybe we should all switch over to soy products that way we don't hurt anyone's feelings.
Next time I feed live food I'll go out in the yard and hug a tree to restore the balance of harmony.

I think it's the "gratuitous, showing offishness (is that even a word), this is cool let's make a movie of it." type thing that's the problem.

Exactly. Or the people with the "Look at what my fish has killed" posts. I remember a post on someones albino snakehead and everything it had killed. I don't see a need for it. I feed my fish ghost shrimp and crayfish and I love watching them eat but not because they're destroying something but because they seem to enjoy stalking and hunting live prey.

its not all the younger age who are sick and twisted and like getting kicks of things suffering and dieing. i dont use feeder fish and never will. i use frozen foods but they were once live creatures so you carnt choose the values of lives like that. also trying to simulate there natural behaviour this is BS as most fish have been breed so many times its not true so they would never no what its like in the wild unless they are wild-f something. about that idiot trying to find tankmates for the SH is a fool hes just wanted to show of his dumb fish. its happening to any aggressive animal like people owning "dangerous dogs" they only buy them cause the susposily look hard with them. my cousin has a bit bull cross with a german shepard and first thing comes to mind is aggressive and second ugly haha but he's a realy nce dog doesnt bite at all and i lve in liverpool which is bad for thing like this. dumb people always f**k up anything aggressive and strong.

i know about nature and we all have to eat but if the only food you can feed your fish is live dont record it and show off cause people will look down on you in pitty.

That's true, I'm only 21 and I see no reason for it.

I don't think "ALL" was the intention, but more like a few, and a "FEW" does not mean they are all "YOUNG".
