my betta likes to make very strong bubbles at the top of his home. They arent from him coming up for air because he will do it repeatedly, one after another. Isnt that the sighn of a happy betta?

Yes, what you have is a bubble nest......The fish gulps air from the surface and spits out bubbles mixed with its mucus to form a nest..........

Usually for breeding they move the betta's side by side so they can see each other. Then when the male builds the nest they drop him in and then move him out to a diff tank along with the female.

YAY!!! Im so excited! I dont have plans on breeding him or anything. He just did it on his own, i have no female betta anywere near him nor do i have one at all lol. Im just glad he feels happy and comfortable enough to construct one.
Heres a picture of him.

He was in a larger tank but between the filters and the bubblers the current was just to much and his fins were getting torn and split so I put him back in his original home and hes been building bubble nest since then lol
